Mexican Money
Tipping
When planning a trip to Mexico, keep in mind that tipping in Mexico is a crucial part of the culture.
While it may seem like just a few extra pesos here and there, those tips can make a huge difference for hospitality workers who rely on them to make ends meet.
So, keep some cash handy and spread a little extra gratitude to those who make your trip unforgettable.

Tipping
Most taxi drivers in Mexico do not expect a tip. However, if your driver helps you with your luggage, it is courteous to tip around 20 pesos. This standard also goes for Airport Shuttle Operators. A 20 peso tip is typical if you are helped with your bags

Be Prepared
I recommend exchanging $300 of US currency into Mexican pesos before you go. Just order them through your bank.
Be sure to ask for some 20 peso bills for tipping
It can take a few days, so plan accordingly.

The bellhops: 25–50 pesos is a standard tip for helping you to your room and with your luggage.
-
The concierge: Tipping 50–150 pesos for helpful recommendations is always appreciated.
-
Housekeeping: A tip of 25 to 50 pesos a day for keeping your room tidy is appropriate. One recommendation would be to tip every day, as sometimes staff changes daily.
